๐ŸŒ™ Noor โ€” Terms of Use

Last updated: 11 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Noor โ€” Quran & Prayer (the iOS app, bundle id ae.noor.app) and the website at noorislamic.app. Noor is operated by the Noor team; in these terms, "Noor", "we", and "us" mean the app, the website, and its operator. By downloading or using Noor, you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

How we handle your data is described separately in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

What Noor is

Noor is an Islamic companion app: the Quran with translations, tafsir and recitation, prayer times and adhan alerts, Qibla, Hadith, the Islamic calendar, nearby mosques, Islamic radio, a library of Islamic reading, an AI question feature (Ask Noor), and a halal ingredient scanner.

Noor is provided as a personal, non-commercial tool. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store rules. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or its bundled content, except where that restriction is void under applicable law.

We may add, change, or remove features. Some features depend on third-party services (Quran, Hadith, radio, map and barcode providers) that we do not control and that may change or stop working.

Accounts

Noor works fully without an account. If you want backup and restore across devices, you can create one with Sign in with Apple or an email and password.

Purchases, subscriptions & Apple's terms

Noor is free to use, with a free tier funded by ads, plus optional paid upgrades:

All purchases are billed by Apple through the App Store, not by us. We never see or store your payment details. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.

Auto-renewal. A Noor Plus subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends, at the price then shown. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in iOS Settings โ†’ your name โ†’ Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running until the end of the paid period.

Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies โ€” we cannot issue them ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Because Noor is distributed through the App Store, your purchase is also governed by Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement โ€” see apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these terms and that EULA conflict on a matter of the App Store licence, Apple's EULA governs. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of them and may enforce them against you.

Prices may change. A price change to an existing subscription only takes effect after Apple notifies you and, where required, you agree to it.

AI features are informational โ€” never a fatwa

Ask Noor and the AI halal scan are generated by an automated system. They are provided for information and study only.

Fair use. The AI features have a monthly allowance โ€” a smaller one on the free tier and a larger one for Noor Plus โ€” so the service stays available to everyone. The current allowance is shown in the app, and we may adjust it to keep the service sustainable. Automated, bulk, or scripted use, or any attempt to bypass the allowance or rate limits, is not permitted.

Religious content & corrections

Noor's Quran text, translations, tafsir, Hadith, and reading library are sourced with care from established published sources and third-party providers, and reviewed before shipping. Even so, transmission and typesetting errors are possible, and translations reflect the choices of their translators.

The Arabic Quran text is authoritative; translations are not โ€” they are aids to understanding. Hadith gradings and attributions come from the collections themselves and may differ between scholars.

Report a concern. If you find an error in any religious content โ€” a wrong verse, a mis-cited Hadith, a bad translation, or an AI answer that is religiously incorrect โ€” please tell us at noorislamicapplication@gmail.com. We take content reports seriously and will correct verified issues in a following update.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

We may limit or block access where this is not respected.

Advertising in the free tier

The free tier is funded by ads served by Google AdMob, including an optional rewarded video you may choose to watch for extra halal scans. Ads are never shown to Noor Plus subscribers or Ad-Free Lite owners. Ad content comes from the ad network and is not endorsed by us; what the ad network receives is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

Noor fetches content from independent providers (among them Quran.com and the Quran API, everyayah.com, mp3quran.net, archive.org, Radio Browser, the fawazahmed0 Hadith API, OpenStreetMap/Overpass, and Open Food Facts). Their content, availability, and terms are theirs, not ours. We are not responsible for third-party content, and links to it are not endorsements.

Availability & your device

Noor is not a safety-critical service. Prayer times, adhan alerts, Hijri dates, and Qibla direction depend on your device โ€” its clock, location permission, notification settings, and power/background limits โ€” and on the calculation method and madhab you choose. Times and moon-sighting conventions legitimately differ by region and authority. Please treat Noor as a helper and confirm with your local mosque or authority where it matters.

We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, and we may suspend features for maintenance or because a third-party service is unavailable.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noor is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from your use of Noor. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Noor in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded โ€” including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, you keep all mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country, and nothing in these terms limits them.

Intellectual property

The Noor name, logo, app design, and original code and text are ours. Quran text, translations, tafsir, Hadith collections, recitations, and radio streams remain the property of their respective rights holders and are used under their own terms and licences. If you believe content in Noor infringes your rights, email us and we will review it promptly.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the UAE have jurisdiction over any dispute โ€” except where the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally. We would much rather resolve things by email first, so please write to us before anything formal.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Noor changes. The current version always lives on this page with its date at the top, and material changes will be announced in the app or by email where we have your address. Continuing to use Noor after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, you can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
